Better Fly, Butterfly

Ask a butterfly
what it has seen,
you will be bewildered
by the mirage on the screen-

the countless images
of a priceless face;
dots run around
as a helicopter's hit and run chase.

A woman peers into
a flustered child's gaze,
as the child notices a butterfly
slipping over suburb's haze.

A man and his son
take a second to look,
better fly, butterfly,
with this picture you took.

Now as time catches up
with a creature of age,
a snapshot is taken
and stored on a page.

But quickly time
prances on you,
and like your pictures of fine,
you are gone too.
